A file editor to edit, download, upload, compare, merge and encrypt huge files.
PilotEdit is a powerful text editor geared more towards professionals who need a powerful application as opposed to people who usually use text editors for word processing. It allows you to open various different types of files.
One of the good things about PilotEdit is that it is very powerful for programmers and those who code in one of many types of languages. Whether its PHP, C, JavaScript or Ruby, this program supports most types.
Along with search and replace features which rely on either plaintext or regular expressions, PilotEdit also includes syntax highlighting, can edit files of up to 50 gigs and can also update files on FTP servers right from within the program itself.
Though the user interface isn't the most simple one we've seen, it does testify as to how powerful this editor is and thus probably best left to professionals.
Overall, a good text editor with the right feature-set for power users.
Features of PilotEdit
- FTP support: Includes support for FTP, allowing you to edit files on remote servers directly.
